Anders Lee will undergo ACL surgery this week and miss the remainder of the 2020-21 season, as confirmed by New York Islanders President and General Manager Lou Lamoriello on Wednesday morning.
"Anders Lee will undergo surgery this week and will be out for the season," Lamoriello said. "We feel that he will be ready for next season, we have all indications of that. Also knowing the character and discipline of Anders and the rehab that he will be so diligent at, he will be ready for next season."
While Lee will be sidelined for the remainder of this season, Lamoriello assured his confidence that the Islanders' captain will undergo a successful recovery and will be ready to go to start the 2021-22 campaign.
