Schneider

With Semyon Varlamov in COVID-19 protocol, the New York Islanders recalled Cory Schneider on emergency basis from Bridgeport on Monday morning.
Schneider is 5-9-4 this season with the Bridgeport Islanders with a 3.08 GAA and a .906 SV%. The 35-year-old goaltender was the Islanders backup earlier this season when Varlamov was on the shelf, but did not appear in game action.
Schneider's last NHL game was on March 6, 2020 with the New Jersey Devils, stopping 31-of-33 shots in a 4-2 win over the St. Louis Blues.
Head Coach Barry Trotz did not have an update on Varlamov's timetable, noting the goalie is subject to the COVID-19 regulations of the Canadian government.
"We'll go by all of the regulations," Trotz said. "Varlamov was tested yesterday again, he's in that window of the Canadian government right now... That window is all based on coming up with a negative test."
