PRINCE TO DEBUT:
Shane Prince will make his season debut on Thursday against Anaheim. Prince had ankle surgery in August which caused him to miss training camp and the Islanders first 34 games this season. The 25-year-old winger was recalled from a conditioning stint with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Wednesday. Prince had a pair of assists in four games with Bridgeport, which he said was crucial to get some game reps in after a long layoff.
"It's been a long road back both mentally and physically, but I feel good now and am excited to be back," Prince said."I thought I had a couple of good games and a couple games where I was still adjusting. Overall, it was a good time there, I feel good now and am happy to be back here and am excited for tonight."
Head coach Doug Weight said he wants Prince to inject some energy into the lineup in his debut.
"He's a fast hockey player, he has a good shot, and he's played some good games for us in the past," Weight said. "We need a little energy right now and talking to (Sound Tigers coach Brent Thompson) his last four games he's generated a lot, he's played feisty, played fast and he'll need to do that tonight, bring us some life. I'm excited to see him play."
HICKEY BACK IN:
Thomas Hickey is back in the lineup after missing five games with an upper-body injury.
