Dufour's goal streak reached five games, with six goals scored during that stretch, as the winger had an impressive showing over the weekend for the Drumondville Voltiguers of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).
On Feb. 13, Dufour scored two shorthanded goals in the second period in Drummondville's 3-2 loss to Rouyn-Noranda. Despite the loss, Dufour still earned the first star of the game honors, as he potted his 50th career goal in the Q and became the first player since Marc-Olivier Vachon did so back in October 9, 2009 to score two shorthanded goals. The pair of goals were also his third shorthanded strikes in as many games.
Dufour's goal streak was halted the following game, but the 19-year-old extended his point streak as he dished out an assist in Drummondville's 4-2 win over Baie-Comeau on Feb. 14. In the last six games, Dufour has compiled nine points (6G, 3A).
This season, the Islanders' 2020 fifth rounder (152nd overall) has totaled 24 points (14G, 10A) through 18 games. Dufour's 14 goals are tied with two other players for the third-most overall in the league and his three shorthanded goals are tied with two other players for the most in the league.
Dufour and Drummondville are ranked ninth overall in the QMJHL with a record of 11-7-2
