THREE-POINT WEEKEND FOR PIVONKA

Jacob Pivonka roped in three points (1G, 2A) for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish during back to back games against Penn State over the weekend.
Pivonka dished out the assist on Notre Dame's fifth goal in the 5-2 win over Penn State on March 5th. The next day, the Islanders' 2018 fourth rounder (103rd overall) scored his first game-winner of the season in the 7-1 win, along with his sixth assist.
After the successful start to the weekend series, Pivonka upped his season point total to eight (2G, 6A) and keeps his first place position in the BIG Ten with faceoff success with a 60.3 FOW%. Pivonka and the Fighting Irish remain third overall in the Big Ten standings with a total of 41 points and a record of 12-10-2.


DUFOUR'S MOMENTUM CONTINUES

William Dufour racked in three more points (2G, 1A) with the Drummondville Voltigeurs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) in his last two games. He did not play on Sunday (March 7th) after leaving Saturday's game after the second period.
Dufour netted the second of seven Drummondville goals against the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada on March 4th. Two days later, the winger recorded two more points (1G, 1A) against the Val-d'Or Drillers for his 17th goal and 12th assist of the season.
The Islanders' 2020 fifth rounder (152nd overall) has reached a season total of 29 points (17G, 12A) through 23 games and is continuing to make his mark on the QMJHL. The Quebec City native is ranked 16th in league scoring.


ISKHAKOV LIGHTS THE LAMP

Ruslan Iskhakov scored his sixth goal for TPS of Liiga. The Islanders' 2018 second rounder (43rd overall) netted the game-winner as TPS shut out Jokerit 3-0 on March 3. Iskhakov kept his point streak alive in the following two games as he dished out an assist on March 5 in TPS' 3-2 shootout victory over Jokerit and the following day in a 6-1 win over SaiPa.
Through 39 games this season, Iskhakov has totaled 27 points (6G, 21A). TPS and Iskhakov are ranked third overall in Liiga with a record of 19-15-10.


GOLYSHEV, AVTOMOBILIST ADVANCE TO GAGARIN CUP PLAYOFFS

Over in the KHL, Anatoly Golyshev and Avtombolist advanced to this the Gagarin Cup playoffs.
Through 53 regular season games, the Islanders' 2016 fourth rounder (95th overall) compiled 27 points (12G, 15A) and 28 PIMs. Golyshev and Avtombolist finished the regular season with a record of 30-30-0 (24W, 3OTW, 3SOW, 3SOL, 5OTL, 22L) and a seventh place finish in the East Conference. They drew a quarterfinal matchup against Avangard.
Unfortunately, Golyshev suffered an injury on Saturday and was unable to play on March 8 in Avtombolist's 4-3 double overtime loss. In their series against Avangard, Avtombolist trails 3-1.


HO-SANG SCORES SECOND GOAL WITH LINKOPING

Josh Ho-Sang scored his second goal of the season for Linkoping in their 5-2 win over Färjestad BK on March 4. Through four games this season with Linkoping, Ho-Sang has two goals.
