The New York Islanders employed a powerful, third period comeback win to beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-3 in overtime, sweeping the series 4-0 for the first time in franchise history.
Anders Lee (2G), Hudson Fasching and Brock Nelson (GWG) powered the offense for the Islanders, while Jason Zucker, Jake Guentzel and Josh Archibald scored for the Penguins.
Ilya Sorokin made 33 saves in the win and recorded a point on Nelson's game-winning goal, while Tristan Jarry stopped 24 shots in the loss.
The Islanders hold onto the first wild card spot with 76 points, creating a two-point gap between the Penguins (74 points) who have three games in-hand and hold the second wild card in the tight standings of the Eastern Conference.

THE SCORING:
1st Period:
5:23 - NYI 1, PIT 0 - The Islanders jump on the board on the power play early into the game. Brock Nelson sends the puck around the boards, which is scooped up by Kyle Palmieri and passed to Bo Horvat, who fires a shot on goal initially stopped by Tristan Jarry. Horvat collects his own rebound and slides it back to Anders Lee, who shovels it home to open the scoring.

11:07 - NYI 1, PIT 1 - The puck was dumped into the corner in the Islanders zone and recovered at the point by Marcus Pettersson, who launches a shot and finds Jake Guentzel for the deflection to beat a screened Ilya Sorokin. Sidney Crosby picks up the secondary assist.
18:24 - PIT 2, NYI 1 - The Penguins take the lead late in the first frame. Evgeni Malkin circles behind the net and sets up Jason Zucker in the slot with a backhand feed to beat Sorokin clean. Jeff Petry records the secondary assist.
2nd Period:
10:49 -PIT 3, NYI 1 - Brian Dumoulin's long-range shot makes its way through traffic and finds Josh Archibald in front of the net, who scores with a deflection. Petry picks up his second point of the night with the secondary assist on the play.
3rd Period:
14:31 - PIT 3, NYI 2 - Hudson Fasching drives to the crease and jams the puck past Jarry to get the Islanders within one. Casey Cizikas and Sebastian Aho collect assists.
