The road trip is over.
The New York Islanders 13-game road trip came to a close on a losing note on Tuesday, as the Islanders fell 6-1 to the Florida Panthers at FLA Live Arena.
The loss was the Islanders' fourth regulation defeat in a row - and first four-game losing streak since Feb. 13-19, 2020. The Islanders have allowed four-or-more goals in all four games in their recent slump.
Jonathan Huberdeau, Ryan Lomberg, Carter Verhaeghe, Patric Hornqvist, Aaron Ekblad and Frank Vatrano scored for the Panthers, while Kyle Palmieri scored for the Islanders.
See below for the Rapid Recap. Check back for Sasha Kandrach's three takeaways.

THE SCORING

16:04 - FLA 3, NYI 0: Carter Verhaeghe pots a rebound past Sorokin. The Islanders goaltender made a tremendous sliding save on Brandon Montour, but Sam Bennett was first to the puck and found Verhaeghe.
