The New York Islanders point streak reached five games on Saturday, but it came in a losing effort, as the Isles fell to the Nashville Predators 3-2 in a shootout at Bridgestone Arena.
Anthony Beauvillier and Oliver Wahlstrom scored power-play goals for the Islanders, who had 1-0 and 2-1 leads in regulation. Nashville answered with a pair of tallies from Tanner Jeannot and eventually won the game in a shootout, with Filip Forsberg (game-deciding goal) and Roman Josi finding the back of the net.

THE SCORING
1st Period:
14:46 - NYI 1, NSH 0 PPG - Anthony Beauvillier opens the scoring, finishing off some pretty passing on an Islanders power play. Mathew Barzal circled the net before feeding Josh Bailey, whose fake shot froze the Nashville penalty killers. Bailey dished over to Beauvillier who went upstairs on Juuse Saros.
2nd Period
6:54 - NYI 1, NSH 1 - Tanner Jeannot ties the score, as his shot slipped by an Andy Greene screen and went through Yakov Trenin's legs before beating Ilya Sorokin blocker side. Dante Fabbro and Colton Sissons picked up the assists.
12:04 - NYI 2, NSH 1 PPG - Oliver Wahlstrom puts the Islanders up 2-1 with the team's second power-play goal of the game. Brock Nelson finds Wahlstrom with a cross-ice backhand pass and Wahlstrom rips a wrister over Saros' shoulder.
3rd Period
11:54 - NYI 2, NSH 2 - Jeannot scores his second goal of the game, going to the net and having Matt Benning's shot deflect off him and in. Benning started the play by pinching off the blueline, skating down the wall and throwing a sharp-angled shot towards the net. Sissons picks up his second assist of the game.
