The New York Islanders dropped a 4-3 overtime result to the Detroit Red Wings in overtime on Saturday night at Little Caesars Arena.
Cal Clutterbuck scored shorthanded, while Oliver Wahlstrom added two power-play goals in regulation. Ilya Sorokin made 26 saves on 29 shots for the Islanders.
Moritz Seider scored the overtime winner while Filip Hronek, Sam Gagner and Givani Smith all scored at even-strength in regulation. Alex Nedeljkovic made 20 saves on 23 shots for Detroit.

7:37 - DET 2, NYI -Sam Gagner doubled Detroit's lead 2-1 as he beats Ilya Sorokin shortside. Givani Smith and Carter Rowney recorded assists on the goals.
Second Period:
10:48 - NYI 2, DET 2, PPG -The Islanders tie the score up 2-2 as Oliver Wahlstrom scores on their first power-play opportunity of the game. Noah Dobson and Mathew Barzal record assists on the goal.
