The New York Islanders fell to the Minnesota Wild 2-1 in a shootout on Tuesday night at Xcel Energy Center, picking up a point in the process.
Josh Bailey found the back of the net for the Islanders, while Ryan Reaves scored for Minnesota in regulation. After a stalemate through the final two periods and overtime, Frederick Gaudreau scored the lone goal in the shootout, dropping the Islanders to 0-5 in games that go beyond 65 minutes.
Ilya Sorokin made 30 saves through 65 minutes, while Filip Gustavsson stopped 39-of-40 shots in the win.

14:15 - NYI 1, MIN 0 - Otto Koivula circles behind and around the net, sending a feed to Scott Mayfield, who launches a shot from the point. Filip Gustavsson makes the initial save, but Josh Bailey swoops in and buries the rebound to open the scoring.
