June 27, 2009 -The Islanders picked a pair of mainstays in the late rounds of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, selecting Casey Cizikas in the fourth round (92nd overall) and Anders Lee in the sixth round (151st overall).

Since 2012, Cizikas has been a regular in the Islanders lineup and has compiled 171 career points (74G, 97A) throughout 534 games in his eight seasons with the team.

Cizikas centers the Islanders 'Identity Line' between Cal Clutterbuck and Matt Martin. The line known for setting the tone with energy, tenacity and a physical edge. Cizikas is has earned the Bob Nystrom Award twice, which was created in 1991 to recognize an Islanders player that exemplifies leadership, hustle and dedication. Cizikas is one of the Islanders top penalty killers.
The Islanders' current captain was an absolute steal in the sixth round of the 2009 draft. At the time, Lee was undecided on whether he would attend the University of Minnesota to pursue playing football and hockey in college or attend the University of Notre Dame and focus on hockey.

ANDERS DRAFT

Lee spent three seasons at Notre Dame where he helped the program reach its second Frozen Four in program history. Upon pursuing his professional career in 2013, Lee scored his first NHL goal on his first shot of his first game in The Show. Lee became a mainstay with the Islanders in 2014.
During his seven-year NHL career, the forward has amassed 301 points (172G, 129A) throughout 493-career games. Lee scored a career-high 40 goals in the 2017-18 season, becoming the first Islander in over a decade to do so, and is a five-time 20-goal scorer. On Oct. 4, 2018, Lee was named the 15th captain in franchise history.

Isles Highlights: Michael Dal Colle

June 27, 2014 -With the fifth-overall pick of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, the Islanders select Michael Dal Colle at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
The 24-year-old winger has totaled 17-career points (7G, 10A) throughout 85 NHL games. This past regular season, Dal Colle set new career-highs across the board with his 10 points on four goals and six assists through 53 games. Dal Colle spent two-and-a-half seasons with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers after making the jump from junior, where he won an OHL title and a Memorial Cup.

Andong Song

June 27, 2015 -Andong Song becomes the first Chinese-born player ever selected in the NHL Draft when the Islanders take him in the fifth round (172nd overall). Song has spent the last two seasons as a member of Cornell University's Division l hockey program, but has not suited up for a game.
