On Day 2 at the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship, two of the four Winnipeg Jets prospects were in action.
By the end of the night, both had helped their teams earn important victories.

First on the schedule was Nikita Chibrikov and Russia, who were looking to avenge a 6-3 loss to Sweden on the tournament's opening day.
Chibrikov did his part, assisting on the game's opening goal by Danila Yurov 7:21 into the first period.

The Russians scored three times in the opening 20 minutes, which proved to be an insurmountable lead. Russia moved into the win column with a 4-2 victory.
Chibrikov, who the Jets selected in the second round of the 2021 NHL Draft, now has two assists in two games for Russia, who are now 1-0-0-1 on the tournament and face Slovakia on December 29.

SWEDEN 3, SLOVAKIA 0
In the final game of the night, Sweden improved to 2-0-0-0 with a shutout win over Slovakia.
After recording an assist in the tournament opening win over Russia, Jets prospect Daniel Torgersson was kept off the scoresheet in this one in 8:56 of ice time.
Sweden's best player may have been goaltender Jesper Wallstedt, who made 48 saves to earn the shutout. Slovakia outshot Sweden 48-27 in the contest.
Next up for Sweden is a match-up with the United States on December 29.
