WINNIPEG, March 19, 2022 - The Winnipeg Jets announced today they have acquired forward Mason Appleton from the Seattle Kraken in exchange for a fourth-round-pick in the 2023 NHL Draft.

Appleton, 26, was drafted by the Jets in the sixth round (168th overall) in the 2015 NHL Draft and played 138 games for Winnipeg over three seasons before being claimed by Seattle in last year's expansion draft. The Green Bay, Wis. native had 17 points (6G, 11A) and 14 penalty minutes in 49 games for the Kraken this season.
Appleton played two years for Michigan State University before making his professional debut for the Manitoba Moose in 2017. He won the AHL Rookie of the Year in 2017-18 after recording 66 points (22G, 44A) in 76 games for the Moose. Appleton made his NHL debut in the 2018-19 season for the Jets and went on to record 43 points in his 138 games for Winnipeg and added three points (1G, 2A) in nine playoff games.
