WINNIPEG, March 8, 2024 – The Winnipeg Jets announced today they have acquired forward Tyler Toffoli from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for the Jets third-round selection in the 2024 NHL Draft and second-round selection in the 2025 NHL Draft. The Devils retain 50% of Toffoli’s contract as part of the trade.
Toffoli, 31, has tallied 44 points (26G, 18A) in 61 games with the Devils this season. He has 15 points, including 10 goals, in his past 18 games.
Drafted in the second round (47th overall) by the Los Angeles Kings in 2010, Toffoli has appeared in 794 NHL games, netting 510 points (253G, 257A) with the Kings, Montreal Canadiens, Calgary Flames, and Devils. His best campaign came last season when he registered 73 points (34G, 39A) in 82 games with the Flames, which was career highs for points, goals, and assists. He also has 44 points (18G, 26A) in 88 career Stanley Cup playoff games. He won the Stanley Cup as a member of the Kings in 2013-14 when he had 14 points (7G, 7A) in 26 games.
Prior to reaching the NHL, Toffoli played four seasons in the OHL with the Ottawa 67’s, compiling 333 points (163G, 170A) in 252 games. He led the OHL in goals and was selected as a first-team all-star in 2011 and 2012.
Internationally, Toffoli played for Canada at the 2015 and 2023 World Championships, winning a gold medal both years.
