All four players from the Winnipeg Jets were in action, as was Manitoba Moose defenceman Leon Gawanke.

GERMANY 3, SWITZERLAND 4 (SHOOTOUT)
In a battle between the top two teams in Group A, Switzerland capped off a near perfect preliminary round with a 4-3 shootout win over Leon Gawanke and Germany.
Gawanke, playing in just his third game of the tournament after arriving in Finland shortly after the Moose were eliminated in the fifth and deciding game of their American Hockey League playoff series with the Milwaukee Admirals, didn't get on the score sheet in this contest.
He played 17:28 and had three shots on goal as Germany's record falls to 5-0-1-1, leaving them in second place in Group A.
Germany held a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes on goals from Kai Wissmann and Stefan Loibl, but the Swiss rallied in the middle frame with tallies from birthday boy Pius Suter and Denis Malgin.
In the third, Matthias Plachta pulled Germany even with 12:03 to go in regulation. However, Germany couldn't get another puck past Swiss goaltender Reto Barra. Switzerland had goals from Nico Hischier and Damien Riat in the shootout to get the win.
Gawanke finishes the preliminary round with one assist in three games. Germany will now play Czechia in the quarterfinal on Thursday.

USA 4, NORWAY 2
After dropping three of their last four games, the United States finished the preliminary round by doubling up Norway by a score of 4-2.
Jets defenceman Nate Schmidt finishes the preliminary round with four points in seven games, and despite being held off the scoresheet against Norway, he played 13:01 and had three shots on goal.
The Americans built a 2-0 lead through 20 minutes on goals from Ryan Hartman and Matthew Boldy, which came 3:35 apart in the opening period.
Norway cut into the lead early in the second, but Ben Meyers put the USA up 3-1 with 11:55 remaining in the middle frame.
Once again, Norway cut the deficit to one, this time just 1:59 into the third. That's as close as they'd get, with Sean Farrell rounding out the scoring with 40 seconds to go.
Now the USA, at 3-2-0-2, will play Switzerland in the quarterfinal.

DENMARK 1, SLOVAKIA 7
One day after beating Canada for the first time in 73 years, Denmark wasn't able to finish the preliminary round on a positive note as they fell 7-1 to Slovakia - and lost a spot in the quarterfinal in the process.
Nikolaj Ehlers had an assist in the game, which came in the third period on a Joachim Blichfeld goal 7:43 into the final period.
The assist gives Ehlers seven points - with six of those being assists - in the seven games Denmark played.
Slovakia outshot Denmark 9-3 in the first period, with Tomas Tatar scoring twice to make it 2-0 after 20 minutes.
They added three more in the second, with Pavlo Regenda, Mislav Rosandic, and 2022 NHL Draft top prospect Juraj Slafkovsky increasing the lead to 5-0 after 40 minutes.
Blichfeld scored on the power play in the third, but Simon Nemec and Regenda scored 26 seconds apart in the final 1:07 of regulation to round out the scoring.
Denmark finishes the preliminary round at 4-0-0-3, but the tiebreaker goes to Slovakia. So Ehlers and Denmark will finish fifth in Group A - outside of the quarterfinal playoff picture.

CANADA 7, FRANCE 1
Following two consecutive losses, Canada wanted to finish the preliminary round with some momentum heading into the quarterfinal.
They did just that, and Pierre-Luc Dubois was a big part of it - scoring twice and adding an assist in a 7-1 victory.
Adam Lowry also chipped in with an assist, and it came on the goal that proved to be the eventual game-winner.
Lowry picked up the secondary assist on Max Comtois' second goal in as many games, as Lowry's pass to Travis Sanheim resulted in a shot on goal - a shot that Comtois chipped home with 2:29 left in the opening period.
The next goal Canada scored came off the stick of Jets forward Pierre-Luc Dubois, who notched his fifth goal of the tournament to make it 3-0. Dubois took a pass from Dylan Cozens - who scored Canada's first goal of the game - then made his way across the crease, outwaiting French goaltender Sebastian Ylonen and burying it 2:07 into the second.

Former Jet Eric O'Dell, who spent parts of two seasons with Winnipeg from 2013-2015, pushed Canada's lead to 4-0 with his first point of the tournament on an assist from Zach Whitecloud. With that goal, every skater on the Canadian roster had at least one point in the preliminary round.
Dubois notched his second of the game with 8:44 left in regulation, then assisted on a Damon Severson marker with 4:41 remaining to round out the scoring.
Dubois' three-point performance gives him six goals and 10 points to close out the preliminary round.
Lowry finishes with eight points in seven games.
The Canadians (5-0-0-2) now prepare for the quarterfinal on Thursday, where they'll play Sweden.
