Adam Lowry and Pierre-Luc Dubois made sure the Winnipeg Jets representation was strong on Day 4 at the IIHF World Hockey Championship in Finland, as they played a big role in a victory over Slovakia. Nate Schmidt and the Americans take on the hosts from Finland on Monday afternoon.
Meanwhile, for Nate Schmidt and the USA, a second consecutive comeback wasn't in the cards on Monday.

CANADA 5, SLOVAKIA 1
The first three Canadian goals were all scored by Jets forwards, as Adam Lowry scored once (and later added an assist) and Pierre-Luc Dubois had his second two-goal performance in three games at this year's Worlds.
Lowry scored his first goal for Canada 10:48 into the first period, as Damon Severson's play from the right wing went off the pad of Slovakian goaltender Adam Huska, and kicked out off the body of Lowry in front of the net.
As for Dubois, he now has 10 goals in 20 career games at the Worlds. His first broke a 1-1 tie 6:11 into the second, and he followed that up with a highlight reel play for his second of the night.

With 2:04 to go in the middle frame, Dubois shook off a check in the corner, drove his way to the front of the net, and with two bodies on him and falling to the ice, Dubois used his own knee to kick the puck back up to his blade before sweeping it past Huska to make it 3-1 Canada.
Lowry now has four points in three games for Canada. Dubois' four goals give him the tournament lead in scoring, and are a big reason why he's racked up five points in three games so far.
Canada's other two goals came from Cole Sillinger and Morgan Geekie in the third period.
The next action for Canada (3-0-0-0) comes on May 19 against Kazakhstan.

USA 1, FINLAND 4
One day after rallying from a 2-0 deficit to beat Austria in overtime, Nate Schmidt and the USA fell behind the tournament hosts from Finland with 2:40 to go in the first and weren't able to recover.
Mikael Granlund, Valtteri Filppula, Sakari Manninen, and Mikko Lehtonen scored for Finland, who earned a 4-0 shutout win over the Americans.
Discipline was the main theme in the game, as the Finnish power play scored three times on the man advantage, including twice on a five-minute major to Austin Watson early in the second period.
Alex Galchenyuk scored the lone goal for the Americans with 1:38 remaining in regulation.
The loss drops the USA to 1-1-0-1 on the tournament, with their next action coming on May 19 against Great Britain.
