Jets select Chaz Lucius with 18th overall pick

Lucius had 26 goals in 25 games with the US National Team Development Program in 2020-21

WINNIPEG, July 23, 2021 - The Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club announced today the selection of forward Chaz Lucius 18th overall in the first round of the 2021 NHL Draft.

Lucius, 18, played in 13 games with the USA U18 NTDP this season, tallying 20 points (13G, 7A). The product of Grant, Minnesota racked up 50 points (31G, 19A) in 46 games with the USA U17 NTDP in 2019-20. He led the USA in scoring at the 2020 U17 World Hockey Challenge with 10 points (7G, 3A), which also led the tournament in goals and points.
Lucius is committed to play for the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers, starting next season.
