WINNIPEG - The Winnipeg Jets announced today they have agreed to terms with defenceman Ashton Sautner on a one-year, two-way contract with an average annual value in the NHL of $750,000.

Sautner, 28, played 41 games for the AHL's Abbotsford Canucks in 2021-22 and recorded 13 points (3G, 10A) and 28 penalty minutes. He has played 23 career NHL games for the Vancouver Canucks and recorded three assists and four PIMs. Sautner, a native of Flin Flon, Man., had a two-game loan with the Manitoba Moose in 2020-21 and he has 283 career AHL games for Abbotsford, Manitoba, and the Utica Comets and he has 62 points (14G, 48A) and 188 PIMs.
Before turning professional, Sautner played four seasons with the WHL's Edmonton Oil Kings, including serving as team captain in 2014-15. He recorded 117 points (24G, 93A) and 130 PIMs in 265 games for the Oil Kings. Sautner added 20 points (6G, 14A) and 34 PIMs in 58 playoff games. His Edmonton squad won the WHL championship in both 2012 and 2014 and earned a berth in the Memorial Cup, which they won in 2014.
