DeMelo, 27, was acquired from the Ottawa Senators on February 18 and posted 10 assists and 37 penalty minutes in 59 regular season games for the Jets and Senators in 2019-20. The London, Ont. native also featured in all four postseason contests for Winnipeg and led the club in shorthanded ice time (16:11). DeMelo has played 269 games in the NHL for Winnipeg, Ottawa, and the San Jose Sharks and has 64 points (7G, 57A) and 131 penalty minutes.
DeMelo was originally drafted by San Jose in the sixth round (179th overall) in the 2011 NHL Draft.
