Dec. 14 - Bev Aymont 2568x1444

Though the bulk of an NHL player's work comes at the rink through practices and workouts, the truly elite players dedicate time away from the ice to their craft, whether going over game footage or reviewing team strategy.
Bev Aymont, a Clinical Resource Nurse at Lions Prairie Manor in Portage la Prairie, Man. does the equivalent of that in the healthcare field, often spending time outside of work coming up with ideas to improve life for residents at the personal care home.

The results of those extra efforts are evident while on duty, as Bev consistently fosters a positive atmosphere for the residents in her care in the two units she's responsible for. Despite managing two busy units, Bev manages to stay on top of everything going on in each area and is always willing to offer support to floor nurses in numerous ways, including picking up overtime shifts when needed.
Like hockey players committed to their game, that level of dedication isn't possible without a passion for what you do, and there are perhaps few who show the kind of passion Bev does for her work in geriatric nursing. She's spent time in other nursing fields but has always returned to the geriatric population where the heartfelt appreciation from residents continues to fuel her.
"I feel I am a strong advocate and voice for those who do not have family to advocate for them. I want what every family member wants for their loved ones, which is to be cared for in the best possible way, pain free and safe in the last chapter of their life." - Bev Aymont, Clinical Resource Nurse, Lions Prairie Manor, Portage la Prairie
