BETTER START
Facing another young high-octane team tonight in the Buffalo Sabres, the Jets need to be better off the start. They gave up a lot of grade A chances in Detroit on Tuesday night and that was why they were down 3-0 with just over 15 minutes gone in the first period. From that point on, Winnipeg dominated and had Neal Pionk not hit the post late in the third period, we might have seen that game go to overtime. Obviously, playing from behind early in Buffalo is not a recipe of success and expect a solid start tonight at KeyBank Arena.

OFFENCE IS FINE
Tonight, will be the fourth game with Blake Wheeler, Cole Perfetti, Nikolaj Ehlers and Nate Schmidt back in the lineup. The first three, offence has not been a problem. At 5-on-5, Winnipeg has generated 69 scoring chances, including an incredible 36 against the Red Wings according to Natural Stat Trick.
"When we are healthy, we have a lot of talent through our lineup. The way we played in the second and third last game, the desperation, the aggressiveness, the pressure, it leads to a ton of offence for us," said Josh Morrissey following the morning skate.
"With our talented players, I think, (offence) is not a concern but we want to have that attitude to pressure and not give any time and space all over the ice for a full 60 minutes."
FIRST HALF IMPRESSIVE
At the 41-game mark of the season, the Jets had one of their best first halves of a season in franchise history. Winnipeg's 26 wins matches the franchise best 26 wins through 41 games during the 2018-19 season. The Jets .646 points percentage is tied for third through the first half of a season. This is the third time in the past five seasons the Jets have posted 25 wins or more in the first 41 games of a season.
