IMPORTANT REST DAY
After playing three games in four nights, the Jets took a well-deserved day off yesterday in Nashville. Winnipeg looks to come home with an over .500 record on this season high five game road trip. They put themselves in this position thanks to their gritty victory over the Flyers on Sunday night and with a win can move back into first place in the Central, one point ahead of Dallas.
"I think yesterday was a really good day for us to recoup and relax and take care of our bodies," said Cole Perfetti.
"Just hang out and enjoy the day in Nashville, so I think that was some much-needed rest."

MORE OF THE SAME
The Jets are coming off playing a heavy team that likes to finish their checks in the Philadelphia Flyers and will close out this five-game road trip against another team with the same game plan, the Nashville Predators. Nashville is third in the NHL in hits per 60 minutes (28.92). The Jets have a great opportunity to put Nashville further away in the rear-view mirror in the Central Division standings, as they lead the Predators by 13 points and can stretch that lead to 15 with a win tonight.
"These games are fun. They're a lot of fun. It's two teams that go at it pretty good and have been for many years now," said Nikolaj Ehlers.
"We just have to continue playing our game, work hard, play fast and get pucks to the net."
ALL-STAR GOALIES
Tonight's game features the two goaltenders that will represent the Central Division at the All-Star game next weekend. The Jets Connor Hellebuyck, who was voted in and the Predators Juuse Saros. Hellebuyck has gone 12-7-2 during his career against Nashville, with a 2.60 goals-against average and .923 save percentage. Saros made a franchise-record 64 saves on Jan. 5 at Carolina. It was tied for the third-most saves in a regular-season game in NHL history and was tied for the second-most in a regulation regular-season contest. (The NHL began tracking saves officially in 1955-56).
