BUILDING OFF WIN OVER STARS
The Jets played one of their best games of the season in the 5-1 win over Dallas that put them into first place in the Central Division. Winnipeg has points in seven straight games and start a two-game road trip in Calgary this evening. Rick Bowness was asked how his team can build off such an impressive performance.
"We came out of the gate very strong. It's what we want to do tonight," said Bowness after morning skate in Calgary.
"We want to play on our toes right away and not let them gain momentum right away."

FLAMES DANGEROUS
The Flames come into tonight's game winless in seven games (0-5-2) and a game below .500. They are missing Jonathan Huberdeau and top defensive defenceman Chris Tanev. But they have played well especially during their recent three game road trip against top teams like the Islanders, Devils and Bruins. Winnipeg will have to expect the Flames to come out at their best and weather the early storm.
PENALTY KILL IS DELIVERING
Winnipeg is 16-for-17 on the penalty kill during their seven-game point streak and that has moved them to 83.3% for the season and inside the top ten in the NHL. Adam Lowry broke down what has made them so successful while shorthanded recently.
"It's being predictable, allowing (Connor) Hellebuyck or (David) Rittich to know what shot is coming. It makes it easier on them and easier on the killers, if you can expect where the shot is coming from, that's your next point of pressure," said Lowry who has two shorthanded goals this season.
"We've done a real good job, when the puck is on our stick, we've been getting clears. We've been rotating through six or eight guys and staying fresh. That's allowed us to continue to pressure. We've generated some chances off that as well."
