AHL Rookie Scoring Leader Sheldon Rempal Recalled by LA Kings

The LA Kings have recalled forward Sheldon Rempal from the Ontario Reign of the American Hockey League, Kings Vice President and General Manager Rob Blake announced today.
The 23-year-old Rempal (born Aug. 7, 1995) is a 5-10, 165-pound native of Calgary, Alberta who has appeared in four games this season for Ontario, posting a team-high eight points (4-4=8), a plus-2 rating and two penalty minutes.

He leads AHL rookies in points and goals. Among all AHL skaters he ranks tied for third among in points and tied for second in goals.

Rempal appeared in 39 games this past season with Clarkson University (ECAC), posting 46 points (23-23=46), a plus-19 rating and 34 penalty minutes. He signed a
two-year entry-level contract with the Kings in March
.

He ranked tied for ninth in the nation in goals, tied for 12th in points and tied for second in game-winning goals (5).
Rempal completed his Golden Knights career by leading Clarkson to the NCAA tournament before falling to Providence in the East Regional Semi-Final 1-0 in overtime. He led all Golden Knights players in goals and points, and ranked tied for second in assists during his sophomore campaign. He finished with 69 points (34-35=69) in 78 career games over two seasons with Clarkson.

Rempal will wear No. 41 with the Kings. He is the fifth player to ever wear the number. The last player to wear it was Raitis Ivanans from 2006-10.
