Anze Kopitar Becomes Fourth Player in Kings History to Reach 1,000 Points

The LA Kings captain reached the milestone with an assist on an empty-net goal to give the Kings a win

In the final minute of the LA Kings matchup against the Arizona Coyotes, Kings captain Anze Kopitar tallied his 1,000th NHL point with an assist on Sean Walker's empty-net goal.
"This one was really in the moment," Kopitar said. "I'm kind of speechless - I'm obviously very excited and very happy. It's great to be a part of this club and hopefully there's a few more to come.

Kopitar will be honored prior to the Kings-Colorado Avalanche game at STAPLES Center. The on-ice ceremony, which recognizes an official NHL Milestone, will air live on Bally Sports West and the LA Kings Audio Network at 7 p.m.

The Kings begin a three-game homestand, the club's final homestand of the regular season. The Kings host the Avalanche again on Saturday and then host the Blues on Monday before heading to Colorado for a two-game road series to conclude the 2020-21 season.
