Cal-Petersen-Recalled-LA-Kings-Goaltender

The LA Kings have recalled goaltender Cal Petersen from the Ontario Reign, Kings Vice President and General Manager Rob Blake announced this morning.
Petersen is expected to practice with the Kings this morning.
Kings goaltender Jack Campbell suffered a meniscus tear in his knee that requires surgery. He is considered week-to-week after the surgery with recovery time expected to be four-to-six weeks. He was injured during the Kings game against the Calgary Flames on Saturday.

In addition, the Kings on Sunday assigned forward Matt Luff to the Reign.
Petersen, 24, has played in 10 games with the Reign this season, his second season with the club
after signing with the Kings in 2017
as a free agent. He has a 2-3-1 record, a 4.29 goals-against-average and a .881 save percentage.

Last season, his first as a pro following his collegiate career at Notre Dame, he played in 41 contests and registered 23 wins. Among AHL rookies he ranked first in wins, fourth in goals-against-average, fifth in save percentage, tied for first in shutouts (tied for seventh overall) and second in minutes played (2,330). He also appeared in four postseason games with the Reign.
Petersen, who has not played in the NHL, will wear No. 40 with the Kings.
Campbell has played in 13 games with the Kings this season (including 12 starts) and has a 5-7-0 record, a 2.33 goals-against average, a .923 save percentage and one shutout. He has seen action with the Kings in parts of the past three seasons after debuting with Dallas in 2013-14.

Matt-Luff-Called-Up

Luff, a rookie, has played in three games for the Kings this season and has not recorded a point. In nine games with the Reign this season he has 12 points including six goals.
The Kings conclude their season-high seven game homestand tomorrow at 7:30 p.m.
