LA Kings defenseman Drew Doughty has been suspended for one game for an illegal check to the head of Vegas Golden Knights forward William Carrier during Game 1 of the teams' First Round series in Las Vegas on Wednesday, April 11, the NHL's Department of Player Safety announced today.

Doughty suspended one game for an illegal check

The incident occurred at 9:59 of the third period of Game 1 at T-Mobile Arena on Wednesday. There was no penalty assessed on the play. Carrier did not return to the game.
"Well hopefully they have me, but i don't know... they're just going to have to go out there and play," Doughty said after the Kings practice at T-Mobile Arena today.

The Golden Knights won 1-0.
Game 2 of the best-of-7 series is at T-Mobile Arena on Friday (7 p.m. PT; Prime Ticket, FOX Sports GO).
The following grounds were considered for supplemental discipline: Illegal check to the head. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.
