Campbell Profile

The Los Angeles chapter of the Professional Hockey Writers' Association (PHWA) on Thursday announced that goaltender Jack Campbell is the LA Kings' nominee for the 2019 Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy.
The Masterton Trophy is awarded annually by the PHWA to honor the late Bill Masterton, a player for the Minnesota North Stars who exhibited qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to ice hockey before he died on January 15, 1968, as the result of an on-ice injury.

In making their announcement the Los Angeles PHWA chapter provided the following on Campbell:
"Jack's career to date is a testament to his hard work and dedication, these past five years in particular. After not being able to establish himself with the Dallas Stars organization early in his career, Jack's willingness to be tutored by Bill Ranford and Dusty Imoo when arriving to Los Angeles demonstrates his perseverance and commitment to the game."
Campbell has played in 27 games with the Kings this season and has eight wins including two shutouts.
