Kyle Clifford Fined by NHL Department of Player Safety for Kneeing

LA Kings forward Kyle Clifford has been fined $4,301.08, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for kneeing Minnesota Wild forward Jordan Greenway during last night's game, the NHL's Department of Player Safety announced.
The incident occurred at 9:54 of the first period. Clifford was assessed a minor penalty for tripping.

Per the NHL's CBA, players may be fined up to 50 percent of one day's average salary without exceeding $10,000 for the first fine and $15,000 for any subsequent fines within a 12 month calendar period.
The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
