LA Kings participate in Grand Opening of new ball hockey rink in Big Bear

The LA Kings participated in a special Grand Opening of the new ball hockey rink in the greater Big Bear area this Thursday. In conjunction with Delta Air Lines and the YMCA, the rink at Camp Whittle officially opened for camp participants this week.

The Kings, Camp Whittle, YMCA and Delta Air Lines all participated in the "cutting the ribbon" ceremony at the new facility in Big Bear at Camp Whittle.

Executives from the YMCA and Delta Air Lines delivered remarks as well as the event being emceed by Kings analyst/former Kings forward Daryl Evans who also helped conduct a special ball hockey clinic with young athletes from the Big Bear area following the conclusion of the event.

"The YMCA and Delta Air Lines have been tremendous partners in the effort grow the game of hockey locally," said Kelly Cheeseman, COO of AEG Sports. "As an organization we are committed to increasing access to the sport, and we are thrilled the YMCA will be able to facilitate safe and fun programming for this community."
The Camp Whittle Outdoor Ball Hockey Rink is expected to host 3,000 youth members each calendar year.
