LA Kings Sign Trevor Moore to a Two-Year Contract Extension

The LA Kings have signed forward Trevor Moore to a two-year contract extension with an average annual value (AAV) of $1,875,000 according to Vice President and General Manager Rob Blake.
Moore, 26, had a career year last season with the Kings, setting single-season career highs in all major categories with 23 points (10-13=23) in 56 games. He finished the season ranked fifth on the team in goals, tied for sixth in points and led the team (tied for eighth in the league) with two shorthanded goals.

Moore was chosen by the Kings as last season's King Clancy Nominee, given to the player that best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and has made a significant humanitarian contribution to his community. He also won the Unsung Hero award as voted on by his teammates.

The Thousand Oaks, California native was acquired from the Maple Leafs on Feb. 5, 2020, and has totaled 28 points (13-15=28) in 71 contests with the Kings. He has appeared in 123 NHL games since his debut in 2018-19, recording 41 points (18-23=41) in that span. Moore was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Maple Leafs on July 26, 2016.
After playing three seasons at the University of Denver (NCAA), the 5-10, 185-pound forward appeared in parts of four seasons at the AHL level, all with the Toronto Marlies. He recorded 107 points (49-58=107) in 173 regular-season games. His AHL career was highlighted by a 2018 Calder Cup Championship win, where he recorded 17 points (6-11=17) in 20 games on the Marlies run to the championship. He tied for fourth during the postseason in points and tied for fifth in assists.

Last month, Moore represented Team USA at a major international event for the first time in his career at the 2021 IIHF Men's World Championship in Riga, Latvia where he helped the U.S. earn a bronze medal. He played in 10 games during the tournament, posting nine points (5-4=9) and a plus-7 rating. Among tournament leaders, he tied for sixth in points and goals, tied for ninth in assists and tied for fourth in plus/minus. Within Team USA, he ranked second in both goals and points and finished third in assists.
