LA-Kings-Emergency-Goalie-Tryouts-2018

The LA Kings will hold open goalie tryouts on Sunday, September 23 at Toyota Sports Center as the club seeks qualified amateur candidates to provide emergency goaltending duties at home games during the upcoming season.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old and have played a high level of amateur hockey, but must not have signed a contract to play in a professional league.
"The NHL requires each home team to have an emergency goalie in the stands at every game. It is rare that one of these goalies sees action in a game, but it can happen. One of our fans might have the chance to live out their NHL dream at STAPLES Center and that begins on September 23 with our open tryout," said Kings President and Hockey Hall of Famer Luc Robitaille. "We look forward to scouting our local talent."

Last year,
four people were selected by the Kings
to provide emergency goaltending duties.

The
Kings began their 2018 Training Camp
last week in El Segundo.
