Alex Edler, who this past Saturday played in his 1,000th regular season NHL game, will be honored tonight prior to the Kings-Dallas Stars game at Crypto.com Arena.
The on-ice ceremony, which recognizes an official NHL Milestone, will begin at 7 p.m. The game will begin after the conclusion of the ceremony, which is hosted by Nick Nickson.
Edler on Saturday became the sixth Swedish-born defenseman in league history to skate in 1,000 career NHL games, the 12th active defenseman, the second defenseman from the 2004 NHL Draft class (Alex Goligoski, 1,012 GP), and the seventh overall skater from his draft class to reach the mark.
Since signing with the Kings in 2021, Edler has tallied four goals, 21 assists and 25 points in 75 games with a plus-17 rating. Edler's plus-17 rating ranks tied for second on the team behind fellow defenseman Matt Roy during that time.
