Volumetric technology pioneer Tetavi and the NHL's LA Kings today announced a new partnership dedicated to enhancing fan experience and engagement. The LA Kings are the first team in the NHL to use volumetric technology to create immersive content and experiences for their fans.
The partnership debuted with two videos using volumetric capture of the LA Kings' top players including captain Anze Kopitar, Phillip Danault, Adrian Kempe, Viktor Arvidsson, Trevor Moore and Alex Iafallo, and its beloved mascot Bailey for the in-arena experience on the jumbotron. The videos were broadcast during the first playoff home game for the LA Kings at Crypto.com Arena on Friday, May 6 and will follow with different immersive experiences for the fans throughout the 2022 playoffs and into next season.

The capture took place in April at the Toyota Sports Performance Center in El Segundo, the official LA Kings practice facility. For the first time ever, a volumetric capture system was set up on ice thanks to Tetavi's ultra-portable studio solution.
"We are extremely excited to partner with the Los Angeles Kings for the 2022 NHL Playoffs and beyond to make incredible immersive content part of their fan experiences," says Tetavi CEO Gilad Talmon. "It was a pleasure working with the players and Bailey to bring this in-game activation to life and we have ambitious plans to supercharge engagement for Kings fans around the world. This is a major step in our mission to democratize volumetric technology. Our goal is to bring sports, music, entertainment, gaming and fashion into the Metaverse and Web3."
