The Week That Was

The Week That Is

Moving to the week ahead, the Kings will endure a four-game Canadian and Pacific Northwest west road trip as they face off against four divisional opponents, including three of them for the first time this season.
The Kings will begin their road trip against the reigning Pacific Division champions, the Calgary Flames on Monday at the Saddledome. It will be the Kings first look at the new-look Flames roster that does not include two departures of 100-point scorers in Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew Tkachuk, but does include additions of 115-point scorer Jonathan Huberdeau and 2022 Stanley Cup champion Nazem Kadri. The Flames will enter Monday's game having just snapped a seven-game losing streak on Saturday.
The Kings will then head to Edmonton and face off against the Oilers for the first time since Game 7 of last year's first round of the playoffs. Currently, Connor McDavid (32) and Leon Draisaitl (28) rank first and second in the NHL in points. The Oilers are 6-4-0 in their last 10 games and have the NHL's second ranked power play (32.2%).
In the ladder half of the week, the Kings will play back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday. First, the Kings will head west to Vancouver and take on a struggling Canucks team that currently sits at 4-9-3. The Canucks have lost a league-high nine games this season when leading by multiple goals in a game. Concluding the week and the road trip for the Kings will be a Saturday tilt against the biggest surprise in the Pacific Division, the Seattle Kraken. At 8-5-3, the Kraken currently sit third in the division, trailing the Kings by two points. In their one previous meeting earlier this season, the Kraken defeated the Kings 4-1 at Crypto.com Arena.
