press-release-header

SEATTLE, Wash. - Aug. 16, 2022 -Today, the Seattle Kraken (@SeattleKraken) announce that they have signed Alison Lukan to a new contract and added Nick Olczyk to the organization's broadcast team.
"We are committed to improving and innovating across our broadcast and we have made big strides this off-season," said Katie Townsend, Chief Marketing Officer, Seattle Kraken. "Expanding Alison's role was a no-brainer given her excellent debut last season and I'm excited to see her build on that impressive start. With Nick, we are adding a young talent who has proved himself to be a strong color analyst and he will add another dimension to our broadcast and streaming efforts."

Lukan, who freelanced for the Kraken and ROOT SPORTS last season, became an instant hit with fans for her clever and easy to understand use of data. She will continue working as an analyst across television and radio, for Kraken digital channels and for the Seattle Kraken app. Before her time with the Kraken organization, Lukan covered the Columbus Blue Jackets and Ohio State men's and women's hockey for The Athletic while also spending time with Fox Sport's Ohio.
Olczyk will work across both television and radio in addition to taking on a content development role with an emphasis on new media and streaming. He joins the Kraken after spending the 2021-22 season with the Chicago Blackhawks where he worked as a TV and radio color analyst while also creating behind-the-scenes content for NBC Sports Chicago's Blackhawks pre and postgame shows. Prior to his time with the Blackhawks, Olczyk acted as the lead color analyst for the Indy Fuel of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) from 2018-19 to 2021-22.
"I'm thrilled to be returning to the Kraken," said Lukan. "Last season with John, J.T. and the rest of the ROOT SPORTS crew was nothing short of amazing. We know that we've just scratched the surface when it comes to reaching our full potential. And to the Kraken fans, we can't wait to bring you more content and connect you to the team you love."
"I want to thank Rocky Wirtz, Danny Wirtz, and Jaime Faulkner at the Chicago Blackhawks for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to live my dream and prove myself as a broadcaster in my hometown," said Olczyk. "I am absolutely pumped to be joining the Kraken family and sincerely look forward to
ingraining myself, my knowledge and my passion for the greatest game in the world into the city of Seattle."
Last week the team announced that Eddie Olczyk will join John Forslund and J.T. Brown on ROOT SPORTS as a color analyst for select Kraken games in addition to continuing his role as part of TNT's national broadcast. Everett Fitzhugh and Dave Tomlinson will continue their roles on KJR as the team's radio play-by-play announcer and color commentator, respectively.
