The National Hockey League announced Tuesday the Kraken's road game with the Winnipeg Jets Wednesday has been postponed due to a weather-related state of emergency. The game is rescheduled for Sunday, May 1 at 11am PT.
The decision aligns with an official weather warning from the national government's Environment Canada that a winter storm is headed to Manitoba in the coming days and could be the worst blizzard in decades.

The city of Winnipeg is currently under a storm watch as the blizzard approaches. The major spring storm is set to hit southern Manitoba and southeastern Saskatchewan in the coming days. Twelve to 20 inches of snow and 40 to 55 miles per hour winds are expected when the storm first rolls into the Winnipeg area Tuesday night and Wednesday.
The Kraken's regular season was slated to end Friday, April 29 with a home game against the San Jose Sharks. Wednesday's postponement eliminates back-to-back road games for Seattle with puck drop at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Calgary.
