Going into the opening game of the post-season, most prognosticators gave slim odds to the Kraken winning the contest. According to Moneypuck.com, Seattle had just a 34.6-percent chance of winning.
Well. The Kraken have been proving people wrong all season. Why stop now?

The Kraken scored first thanks to Eeli Tolvanen, and while they allowed the Avalanche to tie the game before the first intermission. Alex Wennberg reclaimed the lead for Seattle early in the second period and Morgan Geekie notched his first-ever playoff goal to set what would stand at the final score of 3-1.
All 60 minutes of play were backed by a very strong performance by Philipp Grubauer in goal.
