Seattle earned a second consecutive home win in decisive form over a Red Wings team that came to town carrying a five-game win streak. The Kraken scored first, and even though Detroit was able to tie the game going into the first intermission, Seattle added two second period goals that would secure the lead that the Kraken would never give up, even with each side scoring once in the final frame of play. On the score sheet, Jordan Eberle scored twice to mark his third multi-point performance in his last four games. Matty Beniers also had a multi-point game (0-2-2), and Jamie Oleksiak generated the game-winner with an insurance goal from Eeli Tolvanen.
