One of the top goaltenders in the league came to town with the New York Rangers along with a team of skilled players who rank top five as a group in shot volume and creating offense from the most dangerous areas of the ice.
In response, the Kraken played a composed game in which they quieted New York from the start and slowly built their own offense without getting frustrated when the chances didn't fall their way. Against the ninth-best power play in the league, Seattle defended two of four power plays, and even with a goal against coming late in regulation, the home team made good on what they had worked on in practice.
