"We are pleased to bring in top talent to lead our fan experience strategy and outreach," said Victor de Bonis, chief operating officer of NHL Seattle. "Todd has led numerous technology organizations with great success. In this new role, he is charged with ensuring our fans have a memorable experience at the new Seattle Center Arena. His knowledge of hockey will be key as we engage and immerse Seattle fans in the culture of hockey as it returns to the Pacific Northwest."
Once a professional hockey player in Canada and the U.S., Humphrey joins NHL Seattle from LiquidPlanner, a leading provider of dynamic project management software, where he served as the company's CEO since 2017. He has spent much of his career leading and scaling technology businesses globally. In 2014, he co-founded and served as the chief commercial officer of League, Inc., a Toronto-based digital health insurance and employee wellness platform. He has worked previously in executive roles with technology organizations including Kobo, Inc. (acquired by Rakuten), Amazon.com and CleverSet (acquired by ATG).
"I'm excited for the chance to combine two of my passions in life, hockey and connecting people through technology," said Humphrey. "Joining this team at this moment is a once-in-a-lifetime role for me. We have an enormous opportunity to shape a new technology experience for our fans and our hockey operations. NHL Seattle is committed to building a world-class organization with our fans being at the center of it all. I'm ready to get to work in providing leadership and driving value to our new franchise."
