One: Managing the Puck

"I thought too many of their opportunities came off of our stick," Hakstol said. "We gave up nothing in the first period until the shorthanded goal. The second period, once they got the two goals, it gave them a little bit of life."
Limiting those mistakes will be vital against the red-hot Flames (no pun intended, they're on an eight-game winning streak.) Hakstol and alternate captain Jordan Eberle were unhappy about making similar mistakes and giving second-chance scoring opportunities in a 6-2 loss to Toronto Monday. The Saturday matchup in Calgary can reverse the trend.

Two: Focus on Kraken: Giordano

Saturday will be an emotional night for Kraken captain Mark Giordano, who returned to play his first NHL regular-season game on Calgary ice in an opposing uniform after eight seasons as Flames captain and 15 seasons with the franchise. Giordano has played huge minutes for Seattle this season and might have an even bigger impact off the ice, serving as a role model for all of his teammates.
Giordano has scored four goals and notched 17 assists this season and, going into Saturday night, he is seven games from appearing in his 1000th career NHL game. Kraken fans, who appreciate Giordano's style of play and leadership, will be moved by the Flames fans' reaction to their long-time hero. FYI, Giordano has clanged the post with his signature slap shot twice in the last three games, plus a couple of other just-missed scoring chances. He's due.

Three: Know the Foe: Calgary Flames (28-13-6, 1st in Pacific Division)

The Flames are on an eight-game winning streak, vaulting them to first place in the division. Calgary drubbed division rival Anaheim Wednesday night, 6-2. The franchise record is 10 straight wins, last accomplished in 2016-17.
Calgary has outscored teams, 37-13, during the win streak. On Monday, the Flames added Tyler Toffoli to their forwards in a trade with Montreal. Toffoli scored in his first game in Flames colors Tuesday. His shooting prowess is a worry point for Kraken fans.
