"I am extremely honored to step into this role with the Kraken," said Mandrycky. "I'd like to thank my team, who have been an essential part of the day-to-day success of our department and organization. I appreciate the trust Ron and Tod Leiweke have shown in not only me, but our whole department, and I'm excited to continue to grow with this team."
Mandrycky will continue to lead the team's research and development group. In her increased role, she will oversee the amateur scouting group and be a part of the Kraken management group Francis relies on for key input and strategy. She becomes the first woman in franchise history to hold the title of Assistant General Manager and the sixth active female Assistant General Manager in the NHL.
Prior to joining the Kraken, Mandrycky spent four seasons (2015-16 to 2018-19) working as an analyst for the Minnesota Wild. She has earned several accolades during her NHL tenure - she was ranked the fourth-most powerful woman in hockey by Sportsnet in 2020 and was also ranked fourth in The Athletic's 2020 ranking of "Hockey's 40 under 40." A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Mandrycky earned a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
