This was one of those games where the results didn't seem to match the effort we saw. The Kraken stormed out of the gates with a strong start and were able to hold serve when San Jose scored first, tying up the game 1-1 thanks to Morgan Geekie. But the Sharks seemed to wake up after that and the Kraken offense slowly waned. Calle Jarnkrok had a goal taken away due to goaltender interference, and a strong performance by James Reimer prevented Seattle from getting another puck in the net.
Let's look at the game "by the numbers."

On the whole, the Kraken controlled the game, particularly in the first period. Through 60 minutes of play, the Kraken earned 63.95-percent of all shot attempts and 56.25-percent of all shot quality. The first period was their strongest with 73.81-percent of shot volume and 77.15-percent of quality, (per NaturalStatTrick.com). Interestingly, in period three, the Kraken had over 60-percent of all shot attempts but just under 20-percent of all shot quality that was generated in the final 20 minutes.
Seattle's attack was strong enough that Reimer's performance qualified as a quality start. According to Sportlogiq, the Kraken should have scored close to three goals.
The Kraken's lone goal came off the stick of Geekie and it came nine seconds after the Sharks' opening score. It marked the 11th time this season that the Kraken have scored a response goal (score within two minutes) after an opponent's goal.
Jarnkrok had a goal overturned due to goaltender interference, but he certainly earned the chance. He tied San Jose's Timo Meier for individual shot quality in the game with .37 expected goals.
Speaking of Meier, he had the most shot attempts of any Sharks skater (7) and Philipp Grubauer turned them all away.
Speaking of goaltender interference, the Kraken issued a challenge of their own after the Sharks' third goal of the game. It was the first time this season that Seattle has challenged for goaltender interference. To date, Seattle has been involved in five total goaltender interference challenges. In those challenges, the Kraken have had one of their own goals overturned and had four opponent goals upheld or awarded.
