The Tampa Bay Lightning Sensory Room at AMALIE Arena was constructed in consultation with CARD (University of South Florida – Center for Autism & Related Disabilities) with the intent to provide a safe space for those with sensory processing needs. Located in the Suites entrance lobby, the Sensory Room is available to any guests who may need to step away from the action. The room features a number of sensory-specific items to stimulate or calm specific senses.
Sensory Specific items include:
- Weighted Lap Pads- Located inside the safe storage ottoman
- Tap LED Lights- Experience a calming or stimulating environment with just a few taps! Just slide your finger over the tiles to turn them on, then slide again to turn them off.
- Acoustic Cloud- designed to reduce noise and distractions inside, as well as outside, of the sensory room
- Liquid Floor Tiles – Play and dance on these beautiful colored tiles to experience a soothing and relaxing entertainment.
- Sensory Bag Items- additional handheld items from our sensory bags to use while in the room
