SUNRISE, Fla. - After consulting with the City of Sunrise, Broward Country and various governmental officials and agencies, the Florida Panthers announced today that their preseason game on Thursday, Oct. 6, against the Tampa Bay Lightning at the BB&T Center has been cancelled due to the expected landfall of Hurricane Matthew.

The exhibition will not be rescheduled. The Lightning wrap up preseason play against the Nashville Predators on Saturday at 7 p.m. at AMALIE Arena.
"While we are disappointed to announce the postponement of any event at the BB&T Center, the safety of our fans, staff and the people of South Florida is always our top priority," said Panthers Executive Chairman Peter Luukko.
