TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Lightning have acquired forward Nick Paul from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for forward Mathieu Joseph and a fourth-round selection in 2024, vice president and general manager Julien BriseBois announced.
Paul, 6-foot-3, 224 pounds, has played in 59 games with Ottawa this season, recording 11 goals and 18 points while averaging 17:22 in ice time per contest. He ranks sixth on the team for goals and ice time among forwards.
A native of Mississauga, Ontario, Paul has skated in 227 career NHL games, all with the Senators, recording 29 goals and 66 points. He has also appeared in 262 career AHL games with the Binghamton and Belleville Senators, registering 58 goals and 141 points. Paul also helped Team Canada to the Gold Medal at the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championships, notching three goals in seven games.
Paul was drafted by the Dallas Stars in the fourth around, 101st overall, in the 2013 NHL Draft.
