Steven Stamkos had his 200th power play goal and a hat trick in the Lightning's back-and-forth victory over the Oilers at Rogers Place in Edmonton on Thursday.
Tampa Bay came back strong in the third period after giving up an early 2-0 lead and three unaswered goals in the second period.
Andrei Vasilevskiy was the common denominator saving 53 out of 57 shots on goal. Nikita Kucherov stayed hot with 1 goal and 1 assist, becoming the first player in the NHL this season to reach 50 points.
The Lightning finish out their lengthy road trip with a matchup against the Calgary Flames on Saturday.

Leon Draisaitl went to the penalty box for tripping Nikita Kucherov, which sent Tampa Bay to the power play early into the first period. From the blue line, Mikhail Sergachev set the puck up for Steven Stamkos at the right point. After his pass intended for Kucherov led to a scatter for the puck, it landed on the tape of Stamkos and his one-timer beat Stuart Skinner.

Mikey Eyssimont held the puck in the offensive zone and played it to Tyler Motte at the near wall. Eyssimont crossed the ice to Darren Raddysh who took the shot on goal. Stuart Skinner was able to block the first attempt, but after the rebound came loose Motte’s backhander beat Skinner’s glove side off the back bar.

Warren Foegele got called for hooking Brayden Point which led to another Tampa Bay power play. After a Lightning turnover, Derek Ryan and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins grabbed the breakaway and found Darnell Nurse on the rush and he elevated the puck past the blocker side of Andrei Vasilevskiy.

Off the face off, Connor McDavid chipped in a bouncing puck over the right shoulder of Andrei Vasilevskiy which tied the game at two apiece.

After Calvin de Haan was sent to the penalty box for interference, the Oilers went to the power play. Leon Draisaitl fought off the Lightning defense and landed the puck onto the stick of Ryan Nugent-Hopkins who quickly crossed the puck up the Evan Bouchard. Bouchard took the shot and Zach Hyman deflected the puck into the Bolts net.

After Conor Sheary fought off Cody Ceci, his centering pass went to Haydn Fleury who took the shot on goal. Stuart Skinner made the original save, but the rebound came loose and Steven Stamkos knocked the puck in from the short side and tied the game.

Just seconds after Tampa Bay killed off a key penalty, Connor McDavid and Evan Bouchard played the puck back-and-forth before Bouchard made the snipe towards the net. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins was at the crease for the redirection.

After Edmonton pulled Stuart Skinner for the extra attacker late into the third period, a giveaway in the neutral zone landed the puck to Anthony Cirelli. From the near wall, Cirelli took a bouncing puck and shot it into Edmonton's empty net.
