Twice Tampa Bay took back-to-back penalties in rapid succession and the Jets took advantage on both occasions. With the Bolts up 2-1 midway through the second, Pierre-Luc Dubois tipped home a Josh Morrissey blast to level the score. Then five minutes into the third, a Kyle Connor one-timer slipped through Andrei Vasilevskiy to give the Jets the lead for good.
Vasilevskiy was back in net after missing Wednesday's game in Minnesota with an illness, but the Lightning were still shorthanded with Zach Bogosian out of the lineup due to injury and Victor Hedman's departure back to Tampa for the expected birth of his family's second child.
The Bolts now return home to face the Blue Jackets on Tuesday.

The Lightning were dominant throughout the first period but allowed an equalizer in the final minute of the frame. With the team's skating 4-on-4, Kyle Connor was given time and space at the left circle to fire a shot that was tipped home by Pierre-Luc Dubois at the side of the net.

From the top of the right circle, Nikita Kucherov threw a wrist shot on goal that beat Hellebuyck to put the Bolts back in front early in the second period. Ian Cole impacted Hellebuyck's vision on the play, dishing to Kucherov and then drifting through the shooting lane.

Back-to-back penalties on Cal Foote and Nick Paul gave Winnipeg 1:27 of 5-on-3 time, and they took advantage. Out of a net-front scramble, the Jets maintained possession and teed up Josh Morrissey for a blast from the high slot that Dubois tipped past Andrei Vasilevskiy for his second goal of the night.

Winnipeg was gifted another lengthy 5-on-3 power play when Steven Stamkos and Vladislav Namestnikov took penalties six seconds apart. Mark Scheifele was able to tee up Connor for a one-timer from the right circle that Vasilevskiy got a piece of but not enough to keep out of his net.
