Barre-Boulet, 24, skated in 15 games with the Lightning last season, posting three goals and 26 shots on goal. He made his NHL debut on February 22 against the Carolina Hurricanes and scored his first career NHL goal on April 25 against Columbus. The 5-foot-10, 180-pound forward scored in back-to-back games on April 25-27. Two of his three goals came on the man-advantage. He also skated in 10 games for the Syracuse Crunch in 2020-21, posting eight goals and 12 points. Barre-Boulet registered at least one point in each AHL game last season, which included a five-game goal streak.
The Montmagny, Quebec native has appeared in 144 career AHL games, all with the Crunch over the past three seasons, posting 69 goals and 136 points to go along with 40 penalty minutes. Barre-Boulet represented the Crunch at the 2020 AHL All-Star Classic, leading Syracuse for goals (27) and points (56) during the 2019-20 season. He won AHL Rookie of the Year for the 2018-19 season, posting a league-best 34 goals, while ranking sixth for points with 68.
Barre-Boulet was undrafted and was originally signed by the Lightning as a free agent on March 1, 2018.
